When was the last time you just hit the road? I don’t know about you, but to me, there’s nothing that makes me feel more free than grabbing a few essentials, putting Murphy in the backseat, and driving to our next favorite place.

Part of it is the adventure, I guess. Part of it is soaking up the countryside. But a big part of it for me is the spontaneity of it all.

My wife and I work pretty demanding jobs that we pour a lot of ourselves into. We love what we do, but everybody needs a change of scenery now and then, you know what I mean? We always kind of jokingly say that when we retire, we’re going to tour the states in a motor home until we’ve tried every chicken-fried steak that every roadside diner has to offer. For now, though, we’re weekend warriors. The cool thing is, regardless of now or then, we’ve got folks who can help my wife with her hearing aids when we’re on the road. Our AudigyCertified™ practice assured us that even though all AudigyCertified practices are independent, they all have the same high standard of care — and that’s a huge relief.

We had some terrible experiences a few years back when she wasn’t wearing AGX hearing aids. We figured we could go to a big-box store for her hearing aids. What’s the difference, right? A lot, it turns out. I’ll tell you, being on the road when the one you love the most needs help and not being able to find it is so frustrating. That was supposed to be our weekend to be free.

But we don’t have that kind of worry any longer. The only thing we’re worried about nowadays is running out of great places to visit!
